Time passes by so quickly in this life. It’s hard to believe I started my career so long ago (well not that long ago) when I was much younger. It wasn’t until I met Paula Wright that I just might have a shot at getting one of my songs cut by a well known artist. Or, placed in a movie, or TV spot. I feel such a great responsibility toward my supports to succeed. So, I don’t cut any corners when it come to the song. I give them grueling tests so I can make sure that every angle has been covered before we pitch the song out. I have to be a lot harder on the song than the people we pitch it to. Hopefully, by doing this, we give the song the best possible chance for placement in the Music Industry. Please “Like” our support page when you get a chance. By doing so, you can stay on top of what’s going on inside of our camp. Paula Wright, thank you so much for convincing me to come out of the closet I built for myself. Coming out was one of the best things I’ve done it my life. God bless.

Stamp of Approval

•February 14, 2016 • 1 Comment

Hello y’all, I came across this very unique “Valentine” stamp that I thought I’d share with you. I discovered it while surfing the internet. There are so many ways to express your love 365 days a year. Why wait for February 14? Well, I can only come up with one answer. If you spend 364 days out of the year showing your loved one that you care. It leaves one day (24 hours) to maximize your time and perfect a skill you already possess. MichaelReyCountrySongwriter54

I will never send you roses grown by someone else, or give you a card I chose off of a shelf.

One dot – One piece of paper

Hello y’all, Michael Rey here. You might be wondering what I mean by “One dot – One Paper”. Well, it’s very simple. The “Dot” represents”Focus”. The “One Paper” refers to the surface of creativity. I apply this principle to every song I write or co-write. This principle will be available the book I’m writing titled, “The 30 second rule” . Look for the book. It will be filled with lots of tips and tricks I use to give my songs the best chance of placement in this extremely competitive Music Business. MichaelReycountrySongwriter47

Nothing keeps me here, Nothing makes me stay

•February 6, 2016 • 2 Comments

If there’s such a thing as Nothing, wouldn’t there have to be something? Everyone has memories of something. Which, leads me to the concept of this song Sal and I wrote. It was a very tricky concept if you really think about it. In this song we place visual common items like “pictures”, familiar places, a vehicle and two characters. We tossed around many ideas of how we could all make a lasting impression on you the very first time you heard this song. Please look for these areas within the song and let us know what you come up with. You feedback is how we become better at our Songwriting craft. Remember every song we write, or have written has you, “the listener” in mind. “Click the picture” for more more songs by Michael Rey – Country Songwriter.

Nothing keeps me here, Nothing makes me stay
Nothing points all directions, Nothing falls back into place
Nothing keeps no time, Nothing fills no space
Oh there’s Nothing….like the memory of your face

Under the Hood of our Economy

•January 30, 2016 • 7 Comments

I’ve never been one to follow politics, or anything related to it. Wrong, right, or indifferent I just didn’t. What I do know is, I have listened to many songs written regarding our countries condition in the past, present, and future. Recently I’ve started writing a song that best describes our countries current condition. I also include the individuals running for President. The song wouldn’t be about bashing anyone that is running for President. It would be based simply on logic by the use of metaphor. Personally I wouldn’t vote for anyone that is in the race right now. However, since we’re going to have to vote for someone, or not vote at all. I’ll introduce what I have so far. The lyrics to my song would read something like this. “If our economy is like a car”, and it was broken down due to mileage and age, I wouldn’t take it to be repaired or rebuilt by a “Baker”. I would have my car repaired and rebuilt by the “Certified mechanic” in the race. The “Baker” cooks bread, the “Mechanic” fixes cars. If our economy is a vehicle, there is only one I’d trust under the hood from the start. In fact, the baker is more than likely going have their bakery equipment repaired by a mechanic as well. Or, they’ll do the repair themselves (we all know where that will lead). So, if our economy is a vehicle, would you rather have a mechanic “Under the Hood of our Economy”? MichaelReyCountrySongwriter33
